Nick Shoulders believes pockets of the world are haunted, and that from the back of the darkest holler to the most crowded hive of humanity, the ghosts of civilization creep out of the rocks and rubble and create a collective mythology. His work strives to capture the tension between the natural and supernatural, and personify the myth of landscape through absurdity and caricature. Influenced heavily by the eerie backdrop of his native Arkansas hill country and informed by the worlds of street art and cartooning, he tries his best to laugh at the end times and impart personality and madness to everything he sees.
